The Association of Former WHO Staff (AFSM) provides an information and support network to former WHO staff worldwide through 4 main objectives, broadly shared by AFSM/EURO:

Information - AFSM in Geneva has ready access to other international associations of former UN staff, WHO Staff Health Insurance and the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund Geneva Office. 

Solidarity and assistance – provide assistance and advice on such matters as health insurance claims.  

Collective voice - promote the interests of members through its collective voice, with particular attention to pensions and health insurance.

Friendship - organize social and cultural activities, inform on active life, such as through travelling, writing, teaching, learning new things, and spending time with family and friends. 

AFSM global resources web pages provide an extensive set of resources and relevant web links for former staff.

All six of the WHO Regions have their own regional AFSMs. The regional AFSMs provide support and encouragement to former staff through regular contact, events, activities and in some cases their own website or social media platform.
